Continuity editing is at the heart of moving image storytelling. Sometimes called "invisible editing", its aim is to hide the filmic elements of camerawork, composition, design and editing so that the viewer's focus is on the narrative alone. When you watch a well edited film, you should be so wrapped up in the story that you don't notice that you are watching a constructed piece of film.
